About Us

We are a cardiovascular research group focused on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms that drive heart disease, tissue repair, and cardiac aging. By integrating stem cell biology, advanced disease models, and multi-omics approaches, we aim to uncover mechanisms that can be translated into novel therapies that promote tissue repair after injury and support long-term heart function.
Our work explores how stem and progenitor cells contribute to recovery in ischemic conditions, investigate the role of cardiac fibroblasts shape remodelling in aging and heart failure, and explore how oxygen-sensing pathways influence mesenchymal stromal cell function. Through these efforts, our goal is to bridge fundamental science discovery with clinically relevant applications in cardiovascular medicine.
